Happy Birthday Jo!
Happy Birthday Jo!
Happy Fourth of July everyone else!
This was a great weekend. Friday was laid back. Saturday I planned a new programming project, then saw Julia for the afternoon. We had Zach over and made tacos and watched True Lies. I then went back to Zach's and we watched some Hogan's Heroes. I was skeptical, but it would seem that there are many humorous ways in which POWs can abuse stupid Nazis. We also watched Hitchcock's Rope. It was pretty cool - it's about two friends who murder their classmate as an intellectual exercies, then invite his girlfriend, friends, professor, and parents over for a party. They even serve food from atop his corpse. It was great. I intended to go home after this, but I did not. Instead I proceded to stay up until 5am playing San Andreas. Sigh.
Sunday I did programming, then went over to Mike's for Jo's party. We were going to go to some Cyclops place for dinner, but they closed off the big section of the restaurant, so they wouldn't let us in. We went to a nearby pizza place. The waiter came up to Jo and said "Here at Belltown pizza, I won't sing you happy birthday, but I will take a shot of Jager with you." And he did. That was quite amusing. Same guy ended up being at the last bar we went to too, apparently he bought her another shot there. After the pizza place we went to a club or something. The girls danced, I went hung out on the deck, occasionally looking in to watch them dance. We went from there to another bar, from which we left with the girls quite drunk, some even passing out. It was a grand time.
Monday I just did my new programming project while listening to all the new music I'm adding to my collection. These days bring me so much joy. There's nothing like prodective work of your own choosing. Then the added enjoyment of novel music. It doesn't get much better than this. I went over to Mike's to watch the fireworks from there. Apparently the 74 wasn't running, so I had to take the 72. With a little running I got there before ten. Of course they started late. It was a good show - they had cubes and a few other fireworks, which I hadn't seen before. It would be pretty cool to design fireworks. I headed back on the bus, but I really didn't think traffic would be as bad as it was. It took half an hour to go a mile, after which point, the bus driver said it would be faster for us to walk to the U-District. So I did. Directed a Chinese medical student who was waiting for the bus I had just abandoned to walk with me. It took 45 minutes to walk from Hooters back home. So I continued the journey I had taken after Batman last Tuesday (or was it the Tuesday before?).
The important thing is, Fantastic Four comes out this weekend! Woo hoo! Don't let me down, Reed.
