Alden: How do you conceive to draw the line between what one is responsible for and what one is not if you force us to be responsible for the acts of others?
Alden: And there's a great deal of difference between doing something yourself and letting it happen on its own. There is only so much any individual is capable of.
Alden: What good is living if you're going to die tomorrow? Living is more than just being a vegetable or a host to tubeworms.
Jonathan:
Nick: parasites? I thought the right to live was the right to be ALIVE.
Nick: oh, and, I'd just like to point out that capitalism is not equivalent with freedom in terms of rights. One is economics, one is political science.
Nick: both are cold, cruel murder.
Nick: allowing someone to starve to death by refusing to give them food is equivalent to locking them in a cage and waiting for them to starve.
Nick: most property does not affect your right to BE ALIVE.
Nick: Property does not equal liberty.
"And you can tell him: Miss Taggart says - quote - I expect to make a pile of money on the John Galt Line. I will have earned it. Close quote." - Dagney Taggart, Atlas Shrugged (pg 220)
